Christo and Jeanne-Claude
This exhibit of more than 50 documentary images spans 40 years of work created by Christo and Jeanne-Claude. As a creative team, Christo and Jeanne-Claude have changed the role of public art and created some of the most provocative artwork of the century.
After the mayor of NYC gave approval for the Gates project, Christo and Jeanne-Claude gave their first public lecture at Edison College on January 29, 2003
February 14 – April 6
Darryl Pottorf
The Gallery of Fine Art is pleased to present the recent work of Darryl Pottorf. Mr. Pottorf, a Captiva resident and one time student of Edison College, has been working as an artist for more than 20 years. In that time he has developed an international following with exhibitions of his work being shown in USA venues in Florida, Texas, Ohio, California, New York and Georgia and overseas in Zurich, Switzerland. Mr. Pottorf has worked as an assistant to Robert Rauschenberg since the early 80’s and has collaborated with Mr. Rauschenberg on numerous original works of art.

Annual Student Exhibition
This is the final exhibit of the school year and features work created by Edison art students. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards will be presented in the categories of Photography, Drawing, Ceramics Painting, Design, Ceramics Wheel and Ceramics Hand. In addition, a “Rising Star” award will be awarded to a full time, first year student who shows exceptional promise.

Arts for ACT
This annual favorite features the work of over 150 local, national and international artists including Darryl Pottorf and Robert Rauschenberg and donations from Gemini G.E.L. This year’s featured artist is Leo Johnson.

Laurence Gartel “30 Years of Computer Art”
This unparalleled exhibition celebrates the landmark digital works of one of the true pioneers who has made art history in his own time.
Laurence Gartel worked with video guru Nam June Paik in the early 70s and created art out of primitive analog systems. Gartel’s work is like a journey through the entire digital medium, while developing his own visual language.

October 31 – December 7
George Snyder and Dan Meyer
This exhibit features the individual and collaborative work of Florida artists George Snyder and Dan Meyer. Widely exhibited both in Florida and nationally, Snyder and Meyer work in 2-D and 3-D formats, with their collaborative work falling into the latter category. The diversity of these two artists is well documented in the exhibit and is sure to both challenge and reward viewers.
